Are you a Career College?
Career Colleges are approved, reviewed and supported by the Career Colleges Trust, a charity established to increase the range and choice of vocational education opportunities for 14-19 year olds. The trust provides a concept and development framework that enables Colleges to transform their curriculum to ensure it provides students with highly valuable employability skills – supporting them into employment in the digital economy.
The key aspects of delivering the Career College Concept are:
- Supporting students with meaningful careers advice, high quality work experience and to experience exposure to employers and experience of the sector they wish to work in.
- Preparing students for work by ensuring they learn in an environment which mirrors work rather than study – including extended hours, business dress and behaviours
- Innovative delivery of teaching, learning and assessment through project based learning and appropriate and inspirational use of learning technology
- Development of the skills that students need to gain employment and progress in a career of their choice. This is done by developing digital literacy, career development and entrepreneurial skills.
